For the first time in his NBA career, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is on the move.
Luc was acquired in trade by the Sacramento Kings on Friday in exchange for a pair of draft picks sent to the Milwaukee Bucks.
« Luc is one of the premier defenders in the game today, with a proven ability to guard a variety of different scoring threats on a nightly basis, » Kings general manager Pete D’Alessandro said « His versatility in this respect will go a long way in helping us improve dramatically on the defensive end of the floor. We’re excited to welcome Luc to the Kings family. »
A second round pick (37th overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft, Luc Richard spent five seasons in Milwaukee where he played 335 regular season games and 11 postseason games. He averaged 25 minutes, 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game over those five years while building a reputation as one of the NBA’s premier perimeter defenders. He takes that reputation to the Western Conference where he will be facing some of the league’s elite wings on a nightly basis.
« I’m hoping to bring to this team that defensive presence, someone who can go out there every night and play defense at the highest [level], » Luc said. « I’ve heard very great things about the fans out there and I’m looking forward to meeting them and becoming part of the family. »
