The Clippers were brilliantly on the floor of the Spurs, who in 21 seasons had never conceded so many points (73) at halftime. Blake Griffin made a superb match with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Jamal Crawford added 16 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Luc Mbah a Moute scores 13 points, with 1 rebound, 1 pass, 1 interception. Marreese Speights stands out with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 1 pass. The Clippers made an exceptional first half to lead to the break 73-55. With a shooting success of 51.6% against 40% for the premises, Los Angeles took advantage of the numerous interceptions and balls lost to lead the whole of the meeting.

 

Despite an 8-0 start to San Antonio, the Clippers chained 8 consecutive stops to pass 16-8. They quickly widen the gap to already lead 39-24 out of the first quarter. The Spurs try to react at the beginning of the second, returning to 31-41. But the Clippers continue to dominate the game to pocket this period 34-31 and lead to 18 points at break 73-55.

 

The third quarter is tighter and less prolific, with a 17-16 for San Antonio. But the advance is sufficient and the important thing is to keep the lead, which Luc and his family perfectly do. They even aggravated the score in the last quarter, realizing a real demonstration to the end. The Clippers won the last quarter 27-20 and the match 116-92, or 24 points!

In the second half of the season, Les Clippers came back leading at the end of the third quarter with a 3 points from Brandon Bass (25-16). At the start of the last, the Californians lead 66-65. In the last minute, OKC leads 83-78. Redick 3-point picks up at 81-83 before Russell Westbrook gives a definite advantage to his own at 18.7 seconds from the buzzer. DeAndre Jordan scored the last 2 points of the match to 3 seconds, insufficient to return to the score. OKC wins 85-83.

Californians will offer a third consecutive win, with superb performances of Chris Paul (24 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists), Blake Griffin (21 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) and DeAndre Jordan (19 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists). The Clippers quickly took control of the match to pocket the first half and win the rest of the game.

After taking the lead early in the first Quarter 15-9, join the Clippers are 21-21 and are tied 24-24 at period end. In the second, the match to the advantage of Luc Mbah a Moute (20 min game) and his family. On a beautiful series 18-3, the Clippers take over the second quarter 24-12 and 48-36 are before the break.

Utah dominated from start to finish during this game, the Clippers were not able to come back at anytime during the game. With only 39.2% field goal, 19% 3-point, Californians could expect better. Without DeAndre Jordan or Blake Griffin, the Clippers have aligned their replacements struggled. Brandon Bass is is doing good with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, Austin Rivers with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists. Luc Mbah a Moute, still in the starting five, added 6 points and 2 defensive rebounds.

 

In a one-sided game, the Jazz have quickly moved ahead and won the first quarter time 32-16. The Clippers closed the gap on a 24-21 in the second quarter, but the Utah are leading 53-40.

Rodney Hoof finished top scorer of the game with 17 points and 3 rebounds, while side Clippers, Jamal Crawford scored 16 points and Chris Paul Marreese Speights 14 points, Blake Griffin 13 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. The first quarter kicks off quietly, in favor of Utah, who is soon to 14-5 lead. Blake Griffin allows to pick at 19-14 before a late period poor in points scored. After their disappointment in the first match of pre-season with the Warriors, the Clippers had a better outcome at the Staples Center winning against the Toronto Raptors 104-98. Californians came back in the game (52.2% to 2 points against 44.2%, 85.2% to the free throws) and dominated the game with 46 rebounds to 32. Blake Griffin had a good performance with 24 points to 10/13, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, Raymond Felton added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists, DeAndre Jordan 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Clippers stand in middle of the first quarter 23-13 and win with 33-21. The Raptors are maintained remotely in the second despite a good DeMar DeRozan who chained 18 points so far. At the break, the Clippers lead 62-51.

 

In the second half, the Clippers widen the gap in the third quarter with a 23-15 offering those 17 points ahead with 85-68. The Raptors are leading with 91-90. While we thought the game folded, the Clippers must rely on the of Felton free throws in the last 3 minutes (8/8 on the game). In the end, the Raptors pare close to winning the last 12 minutes 30-19, but the Clippers were able to get back on and win 104-98.

Next meeting Monday, 10 October, against the Utah Jazz.

First difficult game in pre-season

The clippers were not all in for this first game of pre-season, and were defeated 75-120 by the Golden State Warriors. Klay Thompson (30 points) and Kevin Durant (21 points, 7 rebounds, 7 passes) were on fire against the Clippers (32.5% against 51.7%, 0/7 in 20 min for Jamal Crawford, 0/8, and 0/4 to 3 points for Austin Rivers, 4 points for DeAndre Jordan). Only Alan Anderson and Marreese Speights passed the bar of 10 points, with 14 for Speights.

 

 

In these conditions, the beginning of the game, with a 25-7 in 8 minutes, The Clippers had a few points before the end of the first quarter time but the gap was already there: 35-19 for the warriors. The second quarter was even worse, with a scathing 36-14 which already gives 38 points in advance for the premises to the pause 71-33.

The 17 players of the Clippers spin, but nothing is done. The Warriors add a 31-18 in the third quarter-time and begin the last on the score of 102-51. Anecdotal, players of Doc Rivers pocketing the last quarter 18-24 and will soon forget this first game missed. National Basketball Association (NBA) and Women’s NBA stars are visiting Yaounde from September 5 through 9, 2016 for a series of youth sports community outreach programs in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and the Cameroonian Basketball Federation (FECA Basket). Their visit underscores the partnership between the United States of America and the Republic of Cameroon to promote youth empowerment and education through sports.

Basketball Without Borders, Africa Tips Off In Angola For the First Time

The 14th edition of Basketball without Borders (BWB) Africa tipped off at Pavilhão Multiusos do Kilamba in Luanda on Wednesday morning. Featuring 87 boys and girls from 26 African countries, the camp is hosted for the first time in Angola, after previously taking place in South Africa (2003-09 and 2011-15) and Senegal (2010).

The four-day camp started off with a life-skills seminar for the young participants. The seminar was moderated by Hoops 4 Hope and led by Amadou Gallo Fall (NBA Vice President & Managing Director for Africa), Masai Ujiri (President of Basketball Operations, Toronto Raptors), Luc Mbah a Moute (Los Angeles Clippers) and Dikembe Mutombo (NBA Global Ambassador) who spoke about all the upcoming activities and shared their individual BWB journeys.

The camp got officially underway at the press conference opened by Amadou Gallo Fall, joined by Dikembe Mutombo, Helmarc Comercio & Industria CEO Helder Cruz and Angolan Minister of Youth and Sports Gonçalves Muandumba. “It is a great honour to be hosting Basketball without Borders here in Angola for the first time. Angola is a great basketball nation and hosting the camp here contributes to our efforts of growing the NBA’s footprint across the continent” said Fall.

Following the press conference the campers headed straight to the basketball courts to take part in scrimmages and positional development sessions. It was the first opportunity for them to compete in front of NBA and WNBA players and coaches. The NBA players’ contingent, including Salah Mejri (Dallas Mavericks, Tunisia), Olumide Oyedeji (former NBA player, Nigeria), Cody Zeller (Charlotte Hornets, USA), Luc Mbah a Moute (Los Angeles Clippers, Cameroon), Eric Bledsoe (Phoenix Suns, USA) and Jenn Lacy (WNBA Legend), was accompanied by Angolan basketball greats such as Carlos Morais, Joaquim Gomes and Yannick Moreira.

Salah Mejri said “It is great to see all these boys and girls at BWB. The talent I have seen here today is great and it is encouraging that Africa has basketball potential which spans the entire continent.” The day concluded with a Jr. NBA clinic hosted in partnership with UNICEF, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa and Hoops 4 Hope.

Press Release: Clippers Re-sign Free Agent Luc Mbah A Moute

The LA Clippers announced today the team has re-signed free agents Jamal Crawford, Wesley Johnson, Luc Mbah A Moute and Austin Rivers.

Mbah A Moute, 29, returns to the Clippers for his second season in L.A. after averaging 3.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.6 steals in 75 games (61 starts). The Clippers went 42-19 in games that he started at forward, as the former UCLA standout allowed the fewest points per defensive possession in isolation in the NBA last season (.469, 50+ defensive possessions). A Cameroon native, Mbah A Moute holds career averages of 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 541 games (362 starts) with Milwaukee, Sacramento, Minnesota, Philadelphia and the Clippers.

The Clippers were well controlled their game against the Nuggets, and are permanently posted in the third quarter. DeAndre Jordan has once again demonstrated valuable in both attack and defense (16 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists).

 

In the first quarter, Luc Mbah a Moute in the starting five (17′, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist) and Clipps quickly took the 22-9 lead with a 3 points from Chris Paul. But the entry of D.J. Augustin changes the game, as the leader slipped 3/3 to 3 points. LA led 31-26 early in the second quarter. Denver returns to 36-34 2 points before the Clippers maintained their lead until the end. Denver wins the second quarter 21-22 but LA is leading at the break 52-48.

This is after the break as Clipps take off, thanks to DeAndre Jordan, comfortable in all areas of the game. The gap quickly and Los Angeles takes the third quarter time 25-12, to lead by 17 points at the start of the last. Despite a good time visitors (28-30), the Clippers provide most and end up with 15 points to lead 105-90. A victory synonymous playoffs for the fifth straight season.

Crazy night at Staples Center with a suspense game from beginning to end facing the Blazers. With a max of 9 difference for the Clippers and +7 for the Blazers, both teams were also held in rebounds (47 against 41), and equal to 2 points (50%). Los Angeles could count on Chris Paul (25 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists), Jamal Crawford (25 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists), DeAndre Jordan (12 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists) and JJ Redick, who registered the basket of the victory at the buzzer!

After a balanced first quarter (18-21), the Clippers have taken the lead with a shot from Jordan in the second (36-35). After a 16-4 in 5 minutes, LA wins the second quarter-time and 28-18 leads at halftime 46-39.

Portland quickly rebuilt its delay after the break and Lillard has 3 points allows his men to board in front 48-50 after a 11-2 start to the third quarter. Both teams are at some points until the end of the third quarter (19-26), and Allen Crabbe 3-point equates to 65-65 at the start of the last quarter. After 11 minutes in which neither team makes the hole, everything is played in the final. Lillard succeeded his 3 points (91-94 at 00’24 « ) before Crawford enters his (94-94 at 00’11 »). After a final time-out Clippers to 00’02 « Redick stands out and makes a successful jump shot at the buzzer! 96-94 victory over the wire!

The Clippers again failed against the Golden State Warriors, slightly dominant in the different play areas (52.1% against 48.2% skill, 44% against 29% for 3 points, 50 rebounds against 46). Curry is still the best scorer of the match with 33 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. DeAndre Jordan finished it with 19 points, 20 rebounds, 3 assists.

 

In the first quarter, the Clippers could take up to 7 point lead (21-28). The match is then very close to the half, and neither team takes over on the other, the gap of no more than 6 points to the premises (44-38). After a 23-28 in the first to LA, Golden State wins the second 28-21 to tack ahead by 2 points to the break 51-49.

After the break, the Warriors start with a 10-1, and quickly taking 11 points ahead 61-50. A widening gap of 14 points before the shooting Chris Paul at the end of the third quarter (30-23) brings back the Clipps 9 81-72 points. But Golden State will finally control the last 12 minutes (33-26), taking up to 16 points ahead to win 114-98.

The Clippers remain fourth in the West with 43 wins and 27 defeats.
