Despite a huge Nerlens Noel with a career high 30 points (14 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals), the 76ers lost 119-98 to the Clippers, shooting better (54% FG vs 42%) and outrebounding the Sixers (56-40). Los Angeles ends up with 4 players at 15+ points, like Chris Paul and his 25 (3 rebonds, 7 passes) or JJ Redick having 19. Ish Smith (18 points, 2 rebounds, 9 assists) and Luc Mbah a Moute (13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists) add their contribution on Sixers’ side.
The first quarter doesn’t look good for the Sixers, left behind quickly with a late of 15 points (34-19). The second quarter starts out on the same pace, Los Angeles breaking away with 19 points, until Luc and co react. They finally get it together and prevail the act 35-28 to close out the gap to 8 points at the half, 62-54.
But as it has often been the case lately, Philadelphia comes bad into the second half and put themselves in a tough spot. Against the Clippers making buckets, the Sixers’ offense is clueless. They let go the 3rd quarter 32-14 and are now 26 points behind entering the fourth period 94-68. A late they won’t overcome and that allows the Clippers to easily get a new win 119-98.
