Here it is! The Sixers have finally got their first win of this season after a disastrous start with 17 losses in a row. But against the Wolves, who have 4 wins 12 losses, the 76ers were able to put on a great fight on the court and earn their first win of the season.
The 76ers were fearless on the court, leading the first quarter with 23-13, Michael Carter-Williams began its feast (20 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists) and Luc Mbah a Moute settled in rebounds (12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist). The Wolves will come back strong and inflict 21-9 in the second quarter time (13-1 at the end of it) to lead 34-32 at the half. On the Wolves’ side, deprived of Pekovic, Rubio, and Martin, it is Taddeus Young (16 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist), Gorgui Dieng (15 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists) and Maurice Williams (14 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists).
In the second half, Philadelphia will finally hold the lead and score a point ahead of the Wolves (57-56) at the end of the 3rd quarter time (25-22). Everything was played in the last quarter when Robert Covington (17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist) showed the way for the 76ers in scoring two 3-point shots. Luc’s team was winning by 5 points with 69-64 points before the Wolves came back with 75-73. The next two minutes of the game were in favor of the 76ers with 10-4 thanks to KJ McDaniels’ three points, the shoots Michael Carter Williams, and Robert Covington. Luc Mbah a Moute seals the fate of the last quarter by 2 points on free throws with 6 seconds left before the end of the game.
Relief for the 76ers fans, with this win the 76ers does not become the team to have achieved the worst start to a season ever (record held by the Nets during the 2009-2010 season with 0V -18D)
