Luc Goes For 20 in Win

Friday night is proving to be all right for Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

For the second straight Friday, Luc scored at least 20 points, pouring in 20 off the bench on 8-of-12 from the field as the Bucks romped to a 112-92 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Luc, who added eight rebounds, an assist and a block, remarked that Milwaukee made it a point to bring it on Friday after a disappointing loss to Boston on Thursday night.

« We wanted to come out with a lot of energy tonight, » No. 12 said. « When we move and share the ball we’re a good team. We imparted our will out there and were able to get an easy win. »

In the early stage of Friday night’s contest, the Bucks appeared flat and they subsequently fell behind by as much as eight to the scuffling Bobcats. But Milwaukee ended the quarter on a 13-4 run to take the lead. The run included some stifling defense from Luc and company, who forced Charlotte into three turnovers in the final 2:08 of the opening frame.

Luc got his offense going in the second, scoring seven of his 20 while playing the entire quarter. After missing his first shot of the quarter and two free throws thereafter, the Prince picked his spots. His helper to Epke Udoh put the Bucks up seven early in the second and he added a layup of his own moments later to re-establish the seven-point edge.

« I’m just finding ways to be efficient offensively and contribute every way I can, » Luc said.

Milwaukee pushed the lead to double digits midway through the second and continued to pour it on. Luc’s persistence on the glass produced another trip to the line where he extended the lead to 12. The Prince helped the Bucks close the half with a lead of that margin when he knocked down a picturesque turnaround hook to make it 50-38 with 39.3 ticks left in the half.

After taking a seat to start the third, Luc entered with less than five left in the quarter and went right back to the glass, where he quickly picked up another rebound leading directly to Bucks points. Before the quarter was over, No. 12 added a pair of layups and Milwaukee entered the fourth with a 15-point lead.

As the final quarter opened, the Bucks continued to expose Charlotte inside. Three Luc layups in the first four minutes of the fourth helped Milwaukee extend their edge to 20 as they pulled away for thw win. Luc said the paint, where he scored 16 of his 20 points, was a point of emphasis for Milwaukee as they broke down the Bobcats.

« A lot of times we found ourselves in a good position to drive or get offensive rebounds, » he told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. « We really hurt them on that tonight. »

The game was a solid bounce back for the Bucks, who saw their winning streak snapped by the Boston Celtics, 100-91, just a night earlier. Luc chipped in four points, six rebounds and three assists while playing just 16 minutes in the losing effort.

Winners of seven of their last eight, the surging Bucks finish their only back-to-back-to-back of the season on Saturday night when they host the Pacers at the Bradley Center.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 CST and the game can be seen on Fox Sports Wisconsin.
